How many locations do I need for this to be worth it?
Two is enough to start seeing value, because even two locations drift out of balance. The payoff grows quickly with each additional location — by the time you're running five or more, keeping stock positioned correctly by hand stops being realistic.
Will FlowOps move inventory without asking me?
Only if you tell it to. Every rule has an approval mode: require manual sign-off on everything, auto-approve everything, or auto-approve below a threshold you set and ask for the rest. New installs start in manual mode, so nothing moves until you approve it.
How does it decide what to move?
It combines current stock at each location with sales velocity to work out days of cover, then looks for locations that are about to run out while another location is holding more than it needs. Rules you define — vendor, tags, product type, thresholds, velocity, and more — determine which of those imbalances are actually worth acting on.
Can I see why a recommendation was made?
Yes, and this is the point. Every recommendation opens to show the exact facts that matched, which rule produced it, how its priority was scored, and the impact you should expect. If you disagree with a recommendation, you can see precisely which input to change.
Does it work with retail locations and 3PLs?
Any location in your Shopify admin works. You tag each one with a role and priority, and set whether it can be a source, a destination, or both — so a 3PL that should never ship to a retail store simply won't be proposed as one.
Where does the sales data come from?
Your Shopify orders. FlowOps builds rolling 7, 30, and 90-day velocity per variant per location, so recommendations reflect how each product actually sells at each location rather than a single store-wide average.
Will it slow down my store?
No. FlowOps runs entirely in your Shopify admin and adds nothing to your storefront — no scripts, no theme changes, no customer-facing code of any kind.
