Do I need to edit my theme or add any code?
No. Bundles are real Shopify products, so they work with every theme out of the box — no theme app blocks, no code snippets, and no storefront scripts. There is literally nothing to install on your storefront.
How do bundles appear to my customers?
As a single product. Customers see one bundle product with its own page and price, and add it to cart like anything else. At checkout, the bundle expands into its real components with the discounted pricing you configured, so order confirmations and fulfillment show actual SKUs.
How are discounts applied at checkout?
Automatically, using Shopify Functions. You choose per bundle: discount the products inside the bundle (each component line gets its allocated price) or apply the discount at the order level. Either way, customers never need a discount code.
What's the difference between free item mode and spread mode?
Free item mode treats selected components as free — the discount is absorbed by those items first, which is perfect for “buy X, get Y free” offers. Spread mode distributes the total discount across all components proportionally to their price, so every line shows a fair share of the savings.
How can I price a bundle?
Four ways: set an exact fixed price for the bundle, take a percentage off the combined component price, subtract a fixed dollar amount, or use item-based pricing where the free items define the discount. A live preview shows exactly how the discount lands on each component before you publish.
Will bundles mess up my inventory?
No. Better Bundles never duplicates stock. Bundle availability is computed from real component inventory and recalculates automatically whenever component stock changes — from sales, restocks, or manual adjustments. You can also trigger a recalculation anytime from the product page in your Shopify admin.
Will the app slow down my storefront?
No — it can't. Better Bundles adds zero scripts to your storefront. All the pricing logic runs inside Shopify's own checkout infrastructure as WebAssembly functions, which are fast by design.
Is there a free trial?
