How to create your first Better Bundles offer in under 15 minutes

A practical walkthrough for launching your first Better Bundles offer: pick products, choose a pricing method, publish, and verify checkout — without theme edits.

You don’t need a catalog overhaul to prove bundling works. One strong offer on a product that already sells is enough. This walkthrough gets you from install to a verified test checkout in about fifteen minutes.

1. Pick a bestseller and one companion

Start with your highest-traffic product and add one natural companion — an accessory, refill, or matching item customers already buy together. Name the offer like a product (“Starter Kit + Travel Case”), not “Bundle 12.” Clear naming converts better on the storefront and in search.

Tip: For a first offer, keep it to two components. You can layer more complex kits after you’ve proven attach rate.

2. Install Better Bundles

Install from the Shopify App Store at apps.shopify.com/better-bundles, approve the permissions, and open the Better Bundles dashboard in your admin. During install, the app registers its Cart Transform and Discount functions with your store — no theme app blocks to place.

3. Create the bundle and add components

  1. From the Better Bundles dashboard, click Create bundle.
  2. Give the bundle a title and description — these appear on its product page.
  3. Add product images in Media, or pull images from the components you add.
  4. Under Products in this bundle, search your catalog and add two or more components. Set a quantity for each.

4. Choose a simple pricing method

For a first offer, pick one of these and ignore the rest until you’ve watched a few real orders:

  • Percentage off — take 10–15% off the combined component prices. Easy to explain (“save 15% when you buy together”).
  • Item-based (free items) — mark the companion as free for a classic gift-with-purchase. Pair free item mode with product-level discount application so the gift shows as $0.00 on the order.

Watch the Price summary panel as you configure. It shows the combined component price, the discount, the final bundle price, and how the discount is allocated to each line — fix anything that looks off before you publish.

5. Publish and merchandise

  1. Click Save, then set the bundle status to Active.
  2. Optionally customize the URL handle under Search engine listing.
  3. Add the bundle to a relevant collection, and link it from the anchor product’s description or a related-products section.

6. Run one test checkout

Open the bundle’s product page on your storefront, add it to cart, and proceed to checkout. Confirm the bundle expands into its real components with the discounted pricing you configured. If something can’t go live, the editor shows a checklist of what to fix — for example a missing component or a price that exceeds the combined component total.

What to measure next

After a week, check attach rate (share of orders that include the bundle), AOV versus your pre-offer baseline, and whether the discount depth is still earning its keep. If attach rate is low, fix placement or the offer framing before you deepen the discount.
